I engaged Mark Payne of The Children's Centre CPD team to organise, facilitate and run a programme for all my qualified staff which would be more than just classroom training.
These people had previously experienced a lot of 'chalk and talk' training and I was looking for something very different; something more experiential; something that would present real challenges, and allow them to explore and develop their skill-sets and mind-sets and how those factors impact their behaviour and interaction with others. I was looking for something that would bring this theoretical learning to life.
Mark took the time to listen to my objectives and I feel he understood exactly what I was trying to achieve. He and his team delivered exactly what I was looking for, over a series of several sessions.
It goes without saying that the organisation; catering; facilitation and administration went without the slightest hitch and Mark's team coped with last minute changes of attendees/weather and were flexible on dates.
What I feel makes these courses stand out from the rest of the pack is that they give people a chance to apply and explore theory, whether new or already known, in real practical situations and then offers the chance for personal and group reflection on what has happened.
My staff enjoyed the courses, all asking for more; through Mark's careful tailoring of the course to my needs, we met the desired learning objectives, and my finance and admin departments were happy as CPD is both excellent value for money, and excellently organised and run.
